On April 21, 7 Monks Taproom on Michigan Street will open its doors to the public at 4 p.m.
The beer bar and gastropub has been in the works for more than a year now, setting up shop on the ground floor of 740 Michigan St. NE. The concept, which originated in Traverse City, will have 51 taps at this location, with an emphasis on Trappist beer. The food highlights Michigan products, ranging from pasta to Korean Nachos to pizza and burgers.
Opening day will feature local beers brewed specially for 7 Monks, including Short’s Funky Boss, Mendelian Inheritance from Speciation Artisan Ales and Odd Side Ale’s Jared’s Mom, among others.
