Oh Jonny Lang, how we've missed you so. The '90s were pretty good to our favorite soul/blues man under the age of 70. Recent decades, perhaps not so much. As a notable blues guitarist and singer with an endless capacity for making knees weak and hearts flutter, Lang was always a bit of an anomaly among a sea of prefab pop stars and grungy snarls. Nonetheless, Lang has persisted in doing what he does best: rocking out, the old-fashioned way. With a new album release this past year (Fight For My Soul), Lang is back on tour and ready to show these young-ins just how a bleeding heart really looks all tangled up in bluesy, broken lyrics. Check out the Jonny man in Kalamazoo when the soul bus rolls in to town – if being broken-hearted always felt this good, we'd probably all be constantly singing the blues.
