You guys! Did you know that Matisyahu is now beardless? And no longer a practicing Chassidic? (Maybe, if we're to believe his ambiguous, non-yarmulke wearing antics). But also, beardless! I mean, WTF is that even? But seriously, all facial hair-related freak outs aside, the most important thing here is that everyone's favorite Hebrew hip-hop star is still making music, and making it better than ever, at that. Last year saw the release of his fourth studio album, Spark Seeker, with two additional efforts — a live album and an EP — following up earlier this year. A relentless touring machine, Matisyahu has also maintained a rigorous stage presence and continues to wow fans on the regular, even if the mainstream novelty of his act may have faded just a bit with time. Come check out the everlasting Hebrew reggae hammer at Kalamazoo State Theatre on Sunday. It's not the Sabbath, so feel free to cut as loose as a certain recently shorn rapping mensch.
