All right, you’ve been holding off on having the big day for one year (maybe more), but it’s 2022 and there’s nothing stopping you now. And with a wedding comes bachelor and bachelorette parties!

Let’s be honest: This is where the real fun is. Your bachelorette party is permission to get a little sloppy and go all out with your friends. Bar hopping is one route to go, of course, but if you want to get a little more creative, West Michigan has plenty of perfect group activities.

Here are a few of our ideas for one last fling in 2022.

Selfie WRLD  /  350 84th St. SW, Byron Center  /

You know you’re going to want some incredible photos of your bachelorette party, but remembering to take them throughout the night is kind of a chore, let’s be honest. Instead, head to Selfie WRLD (or book a session with a local photographer like Mod Bettie) for a super fun photo experience, posing together against dozens of different backdrops, with colorful lighting and props to boot. It’s an activity in and of itself, and then you can put the camera down for the rest of the day.

Flirt Fitness Studio  /  5366 Plainfield Ave. NE, Grand Rapids  /

The best bachelorette parties are the ones that empower the bride and her crew to let loose, let go and let it alllll out. Flirt Fitness Studio offers a safe and healthy way for bridal parties to bond through pole dancing lessons. Feeling a bit shy? Book a private party for just you and the girls so you can shake it out between besties only. Flirt Fitness Studio is no stranger to bachelorette bashes, and even has themed party options to choose from. Pole dancing lessons, parties and workshops are open to anyone who identifies as a woman, so put on your dancing shoes–or in this case, leave your shoes at home–and get to it!

Wax Poetic Candle Bar  /  1423 Lake Dr. SE, Grand Rapids

Bar crawls are a bachelor and bachelorette party staple. However, why not add an atypical (and nonalcoholic) stop on your drinking route? Wax Poetic Candle Bar in Grand Rapids offers “wax on tap”, meaning you pour your own scents to create a custom candle of your choice. They say scent brings back memories more than any other sense, and we all know Bachelor and bachelorette parties are all about making memories. Create a long lasting way to bring back the party months after its over through candle making at Wax Poetic Candle Bar.

Listen up, ladies and gents: luxury pop-up picnics. You heard it right. Sincerely, K & J events specializes in dreamy, oh-so-Instagrammable picnics on the Southwest coast of Lake Michigan. You can expect a customized hand-lettered sign, gold cutlery, blankets, pillows and more in your picnic package, not to mention adorable add-ons like fresh flowers and a Polaroid camera. Choose either a bunch setting or sunset dinner and let Sincerely, K & J events do the rest–all you have to do is show up, wine and dine.

The Pyramid Scheme  /  68 Commerce Ave. SW, Grand Rapids

A little healthy competition never hurt anyone, which is where the pinball machines at The Pyramid Scheme come into play. With 24 themed machines to play on — from The Simpsons to Metallica — you and your friends can grab a beer from the bar and challenge each other to endless matches all night. Plus, The Pyramid Scheme is known for its killer concerts, meaning you and your wedding party can catch a show after a pinball champion has been crowned.

Madcap Coffee  /  1041 E. Fulton St., Grand Rapids  /

If alcohol isn’t your thing but you still like to, well, drink, head on over to Madcap Coffee for a non-alcoholic coffee flight. Madcap serves up their best brews in smaller quantities so you can taste multiple beans without getting too jittery. With a coffee flight, you can explore beans from all over in one afternoon. Talk about a sophisticated, adventurous way to celebrate a bride or groom’s last moments before marriage.

The Local Epicurean  /  1440 Wealthy St. SE, Grand Rapids  /

The friends who cook together, stay together, as we always say. The Local Epicurean has fun, easy and casual cooking classes that are perfect for groups. Have a good time with snacks and cocktails while learning how to make pasta, Asian noodles, gelato, steak — whatever you want to learn, an expert chef will walk you through it! You’ll leave with leftovers of whatever you made, so the memories aren’t over once you walk out the door.
