This week is offering a full sampling of West Michigan winter weather, from rainy 40s to sunny 20s and everything in between.

We may be past Valentine's Day and The Big Game, but February isn't done just yet — we have concerts, a comedy competition, festivals, outdoor movies and more.

Here's what's on our radar for the week ahead:

Get ready to rock with Ghost and Volbeat, two Scandinavian legends coming to Grand Rapids. Ghost is a Swedish group known for over-the-top costumes and imagery paired with heavy metal and psychedelic rock. Volbeat, meanwhile, is a Danish band playing a fusion of heavy metal and rockabilly. Read our web-exclusive interview with Volbeat here.

The Golden Ticket Comedy Contest
Golden Age at Creston Brewery
Feb. 16, 8 p.m.

Come see the best and funniest comedians in West Michigan compete to see who comes out on top and wins the Golden Ticket! This event is happening every Wednesday until the winners are chosen, with the big prize being up to $5,000 and/or a flight to NYC and chance to perform at the NY Comedy Club.

Fountain Street Church
24 Fountain St. NE, Grand Rapids
Feb. 19, 7 p.m.

Head to the beautiful Fountain Street Church for a near-religious experience with Waxahatchee, the indie music project of singer-songwriter Katie Crutchfield. Waxahatchee’s music is powerful, emotional and deeply touching. You won’t forget this show.

This downtown winter festival features a jam-packed Saturday full of popular events like the Battle of the Bowls Chili Cook-Off and a Cornhole Tournament. Swing through for Muskegon’s largest winter festival, featuring tons to do, taste and see.

Modelo Meltdown
GR Chicks Way (behind Garage Bar)
Feb. 19, 12-5 p.m.

Lions & Rabbits Center for the Arts is partnering with Rosebud, LLC to throw a Modelo Meltdown to fundraise for public art campaigns in 2022! This party will have live entertainment, an artist market, games, and food & drink to celebrate arts in Grand Rapids. Join in GR Chicks Way behind Garage Bar as we celebrate Grand Rapids' art and World of Winter!

Movies on the Piazza: Cool Runnings
Studio Park
123 Ionia Ave. SW, Grand Rapids
Feb. 20, 1-3 p.m.

Outdoor movies in the winter? Why not! Studio Park is putting on a slew of free movies to watch in the piazza throughout February, including Cool Runnings, the 1993 classic comedy sports film about a Jamaican bobsled team venturing to the cold to compete in the winter Olympics. It’s funny, family friendly, and perfect for a casual outdoor viewing with hot beverages and fire pits.
