Summer is near, which means farmers markets around West Michigan are opening their stalls.
When you want the best produce there is out there, along with cheese, dairy, meats and homemade items from crafters and artists, the farmers market is the place to be.
They all offer something a little different though, so here’s our round-up of some of the great farmers markets West Michigan has to offer.
Fulton Street Market

This year-round market will very soon be entering its main season, and we could not be more excited (or hungry). With over 100 open booths for rotating vendors and family farms, the Fulton Street Market offers a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy and plenty of unique artisan products made by local crafters and artists. Kentwood Farmers Market

Running every Thursday from June 16 through September 29, the Kentwood Farmers Market is bringing on new vendors like Handbreadth Homestead, a family farm using heirloom plants, and Maven’s Microgreens, offering pea shoots, radish, and more. The market also has a “Food Navigator” every week to give you easy and delicious recipes, food assistance program information, and food samples highlighting seasonal produce. The market also offers flowers, bath and body products, and more.
Heidi’s Farmstand & Bakery

Starting every morning before sunrise, the family operated Heidi’s Farmstand & Bakery will soon be sliding out trays of freshly baked doughnuts, pastries and bread from their large ovens. The mouth-watering scent of their bakery blends well with the impressive array of delicious tomatoes, brussel sprouts and other fresh produce in the market. And don’t forget to grab a cup of fresh-squeezed cider for your trip to the corn maze! It’s a big one. You’ll want to stay hydrated.
Holland Farmers Market

While the Indoor Winter Market is continually open through April at the Holland Civic Center Place, fans of their summer season can happily return May 18.
