In response to white clergy (including a Methodist pastor and bishop) who told him that his bus boycott in Birmingham was too much too quick, Martin Luther King Jr. wrote a modern-day masterpiece epistle from the Birmingham Jail to explain why they were engaging in active non-violent resistance and why it matters. It still matters today. This year’s annual production includes a diverse cast of 12 children and youth along with a choir telling the story of that letter.
