Springtime has arrived in West Michigan! Nothing feels quite as satisfying as a clean, well-organized home. This year as you clear out the clutter, consider donating some of your unwanted items to help homeless pets. Zerorez Grand Rapids is making this easy with its first annual “Better Clean, Happier Tails” donation drive benefiting the Humane Society of West Michigan. This event runs from April 1 through May 31, 2021.
“Pet rescue is a cause close to our hearts,” confirms Zerorez Grand Rapids Owner Steve Lopez, whose family includes adopted dogs Chico and Zoey. “We strongly believe in the importance of local businesses supporting our community through action. With this donation drive, we are showing our love for the companion pets waiting to find their forever homes, and our respect for our local animal rescue volunteers. Their passion and dedication is inspiring!”
Better Clean, Happier Tails details
In operation since 1883, the Humane Society of West Michigan is this area’s leading animal welfare organization and is entirely supported by charitable gifts. With the help of more than 300 active community volunteers, the shelter finds loving homes for dogs, cats, bunnies and gerbils.
From April 1 through May 31, 2021, you are invited to drop off donations inside the Zerorez Grand Rapids office at 3530 Roger B. Chaffee Memorial Drive, Grand Rapids, Michigan, 49548. The inside drop-off location is open Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. After business hours, a donation box will be placed outside the door.
The following items will be accepted:
“We meet many wonderful animal lovers in the course of our everyday business,” observes Lopez. “They call us to lift pet stains and embedded pet hair from carpets, and it’s always such a pleasure to show them how easy it is to remove any messes made by their four-legged family members. Those positive interactions inspired us to consider what more we can do to help our local pet rescue community.”
In addition to the Better Clean, Happier Tails donation drive, Lopez supports local animal rescue groups by holding a free monthly drawing, called Zerorez4Pets. Pet fosters throughout Kent County can register to win one free carpet cleaning, courtesy of Zerorez Grand Rapids. To encourage others to consider fostering, those registering for the drawing are also asked to share their favorite pet fostering story.
