The Grand Rapids Art Museum opened up its pop up, GoSite, for public use on July 31. The pop up is in collaboration with the GRAM and the GoSite Coalition and is an information-sharing space for the community, including Grand Rapids residents and tourists.
With collaboration being at its focus, the GoSite Coalition is comprised of a number of area groups, including the GRAM, Experience Grand Rapids, Downtown Grand Rapids Inc., the Arena District and the Grand Rapids Cultural Marketing Group. Together, they represent more than 20 arts and cultural organizations.
The pop-up's intention is to be interactive and community driven, with its visitors sharing information with each other via technology, with a heavy emphasis on social media. Additionally, GoSite will have a certified tourism ambassador (CTA) on hand to help visitors discover the pop-up's features and answer questions.
GoSite is also turning the entire city into a scavenger hunt with its GRRiddle, where players will get a riddle and find its answer on a landmark, building or significant object in the community. If players are confident they've solved the riddle, they can submit their answer on an official ballot card to be placed in a drawing to win prizes.
In addition to its informational incentives, GoSite will also host a coffee bar provided by Schuli Coffee Company, Friday Free Bites with samples from local restaurants and a Thursday Evening Cultural Mix.
GoSite hours are Thursdays and Fridays, 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. through mid-September. For more information, visit artmuseumgr.org/gosite.
