The Showdown Begins: The 4th Annual ‘Best of the West’ Has Arrived

Three times now, Revue readers all around West Michigan have taken to the (online) polls to vote for their favorite locally owned businesses, people and things in the region.

Thursday evening, less than three miles south of President Trump — whom Attorney General Dana Nessel reportedly said this week is a “huge factor” in hate crimes rising in Michigan — dozens of Grand Rapids residents gave heartfelt and at times harrowing testimony about their encounters with the Grand Rapids Police Department.

Beneath the stained drop ceiling of the American Postal Workers Union West Michigan Local on a recent March evening, Kent County Democrats were strategizing on how to build off a solid performance in November 2018.

Bringing together all the different styles of Detroit, The Mo Pop Festival is set to bring life and excitement to West RiverFront Park for the seventh year. The two-day celebration, on July 27 and 28, will once again feature bands and musicians to thrill, unique artistic creations, and Detroit's own famously delicious food.

Former Grand Rapids Public Schools Board President Wendy Falb formally launched her 2nd Ward city commission campaign Friday amid another controversial week for police-community relations.

Sex education in school has long been an awkward affair. 

Boys and girls sit in separate classrooms watching videos about the reproductive system, maybe getting handouts of free deodorant or tampons. Throw in a lesson that abstinence is the safest form of sex, and that’s often the extent of it.
