Put down your brews and listen up, Grand Rapidians: the Grand Rapids Summer Beer Fest has been rescheduled from its previous when and where. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, the festival will now be held on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Heartside Park from 2-6 p.m. Tickets are still available, and if you already bought some, don’t worry: all previously purchased tickets will be honored at the festival.
But what the heck is the Summer Beer Fest, you ask? Well, shut up and I’ll tell you. The Grand Rapids Summer Beer Fest is a big festival dedicated to the promotion of local and foreign brewers and breweries — more than 60 of 'em, actually. Anyone who thinks of themselves as a “beer aficionado” or even just casually likes the stuff should come on down. Not only will there be more than 200 distinct beers to sample (including limited-release summer ales and other obscure treats), there’ll be plenty of great food to go along with it — not to mention the live music.
Hop on the website at grandrapidsbeerfest.com, grab some tickets, and have a taste. Tickets are $40 for general admission and $60 for VIP (benefits include a private tasting session that starts at 1 p.m.), and a portion of the proceeds from the ticket sales go to the Help Cerebral Palsy Kids Charity.
