When a stage is set with just two pianos, it’s often for a duel. But Tuesday night’s performance from Ingrid Fliter and Katherine Chi was a delicate, and at times forceful, dance between equally matched partners.

The Inspectors Boasts Kalamazoo Talent

When it comes to nationally-syndicated crime dramas there’s certainly no shortage of sexy, physically fit actors running around chasing bad guys and saving the day. CBS is trying to challenge that image with their new series The Inspectors, starring Kalamazoo-born actor Bret Green in the lead role of Preston Wainwright, a wheelchair-bound intern working for the United States Postal Inspection Service’s crime lab.

When he’s out and about in Kalamazoo, little kids will sometimes see Richard Bowser, his portly stature and flossy white hair and beard, and think: Santa Claus. And Bowser, a man with a sense of humor and fun, will engage them. “Have you been good?” he’ll say. If it’s summer, he lets them know he’s on vacation from the North Pole. But Bowser is, in real life, a cultural Santa Claus for the region.
