You don’t have to like the Moonshine Bandits, or their music. In fact, you can downright hate it if you want. But any logical person that values hard work and a devotion to a craft has no choice but to respect the Los Banos, Calif.-based country rap/rock group. Since 2003, the Moonshine Bandits, consisting of Dusty “Tex” Dahlgren and Brett “Bird” Brooks, has zigzagged around the country, slinging their unique brand of country hip-hop and picking up fans one by one.

On the weekend, he’s Paul Bauer, animalistic drummer for Kalamazoo-based funk/soul outfit The Mainstays. To a whole different throng of fans, he goes by the name Mr. Paul. Mr. Paul is the brains behind Small Sounds, a program that encourages musical exploration amongst young children but also an entity that has expanded into a one-man band of sorts to record and perform kid-friendly tunes.

If you’re not the gym type but have been looking to change your lifestyle, you’re probably realized there’s no shortcut to a fit bod. But to help nudge you along, Revue tracked down some experienced personal trainers and fitness experts and asked them how to get off the couch and stay motivated.

The cozy South Haven performance venue has been going strong with a steady diet of local and national acts. All the while, the building has been up for sale, and one local band is making sure it becomes the venue's permanent home.
