It's often difficult to translate the sweaty, out-of-control sound of a punk rock basement show to an album. But, if you have never stepped foot in a house venue and want to know what you're missing, Kalamazoo-based ProConPro gives you a pretty good taste.

This gritty post-punk trio that includes Kyle Sherman, Nik Bachman and Colin Reis are as close to house venue all-stars as you can get. They're a favorite in the closely-knit scene, along with the likes of similar bands like The Reptilian and others.

The band pops up for air every so often with club gigs in Kalamazoo, too.

This week's Track of the Week is pulled from the band's four-song CD sampler called Tonight!. It's called "Deadbolt," an explosive tune that ventures over into hardcore territory every so often. Let's just say, if you work in an office setting and want your co-workers to keep their distance, just crank this up a bit. Sometimes, you just have to stick it to the man.

If you are a band or artist that would like to be considered for our Local Track of the Week, please e-mail web editor Jayson Bussa at jayson@revuewm.com.
