Peter and the Starcatcher    By Rick Elice, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson
Directed by Debra Freeberg Calvin College Gezon Auditorium April 5, 6, 11-13 at 7:30 p.m., April 10 at 10:00 a.m. Peter and the Starcatcher is the prequel to the Peter Pan story. An orphan and his secretive new friend, Molly, overcome bands of pirates and thieves in their quest to keep magical star stuff secret and save the world from evil. High adventures on the seas involve two ships, three orphans, two heroic Asters, two identical trunks, and two villains with piratical minions. Our story ends on tropical, exotic Mollusk Island as fish are transformed into mermaids, Peter learns to fly, Black Stache loses a hand, a crocodile flies, and Molly and her father succeed in their secret mission to protect the star stuff. Performed in a theatrical story-telling style, the cast and crew create magic with objects found and imagination run wild. This performance is made possible in part by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs. Student : $5 pre-sale, $10 at door, Adult: $15 pre-sale, $20 at door $8 matinee.
