New York Comes to St. Cecilia Music Center

For a medium-sized city, Grand Rapids continues to make a name for itself by consistently bringing world-class artists to the city. St. Cecilia Music Center continues this tradition with the NYC2GR series, which commences Thursday, Nov. 29.

NYC2GR highlights prominent artists and programs from The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, part of the world's largest performing arts complex. The partnership with St. Cecilia is part of the music center's latest efforts to expand New York music to other parts of the globe.

The first concert in the series on Nov. 29 features world renowned musicians and artistic directors: Cellist David Finckel and Pianist Wu Han, performing with Violinist Philip Setzer. Finckel and Han were named Musical America's 2012 Musicians of the Year, and this musical power-couple have become two of the most influential classical artists in the contemporary world. Grand Rapids is just one stop as they continue to bring celebrated music to select places in the United States and internationally.

St. Cecilia's efforts in collaborating with world-renowned musicians is just one more step that helps make downtown Grand Rapids a cultural destination for artists from around the globe. For more information on ticket prices and packages, visit nyc2gr.com.
