In my humble (and often not-so-humble) opinion, Fine Fine Titans is a grossly underrated local band. At least, that was the case. This female-fronted act, which blends elements of punk, metal and hardcore, is starting to get the attention it deserves with the release of its latest album Omega.
With Jennifer Bartlett out front on vocals, joined by husband Evan Bartlett, Kris Sosa and Joe Smith, this band retains a somewhat mainstream sound amid it's screaming vocal work. In a nutshell: I could here this on some radio stations, which I suppose could be considered a good or bad thing. I consider it a positive.
Bartlett perfectly toggles between screaming and what is truly a very strong singing voice. I was pumped to see the band included a slower song on its album — "Fahrenheit Diaries" — to show that off. It's a well-rounded album.
Take a listen to "Dance of the Omega". It's our featured track of the week. You can catch Fine Fine Titans on May 17 when they appear at The Pyramid Scheme with Still Remains.
