Have you heard of Grand Rapids-based rock trio Forrester? Yo, slacker, you've had over a decade to become acquainted with them.
In a sense, Forrester was born all the way back in 2001, but under the name Burke*Tweeden. Back then, during their high school days, they played covers for their friends and probably anyone else who would listen.
These days, the men of Forrester are all grown up. Featuring Jeremy Prins (vocals/guitar), Jared Getz (bass) and Phil Lyzenga (drums), the group has made it rounds in the West Michigan scene and are wielding a fairly new album entitled Welcome Aboard.
Released in February of last year, Welcome Aboard features a polished, high-energy alternative rock sound (think 30 Seconds To Mars). We plucked one of the tracks off that album to feature on this week's Local Track of the Week.
