Fans of local music have no doubt enjoyed watching the musical metamorphisis of Jake Simmons. A product of South Haven (claimed by the Kalamazoo scene), Simmons went from more pop sensible stylings as apart of now-defunct Dead Scene Radio and has adopted an unapologetic brand of rock 'n' roll. Plus, alongside a handful of other bands and musicians, Simmons has been one of the few solid rocks in an ever-changing Kalamazoo music scene.
He's in good company, too, with Ben Bojanich (ex-Ghosts of the Great Lakes) on bass, Ian Cooper (ex-Patience, Patients) on drums and Matt Blasco playing guitar to form Jake Simmons and the Little Ghosts.
For a look at the group's raw, root-sy rock sound, check out our Track of the Week. We're featuring "Us". You can play the song below or anywhere else on our website this week. Check it out.
