When fall rolls around, it’s the perfect time to celebrate the fruits of farmers’ labor in bringing us the fresh hops and grains needed to produce our favorite libation: beer.

It also signals the beginning of fresh-hop beers, the celebration of newly picked hops and all the nuance they bring to our palettes.

Luckily, Founders Brewing Co. in Grand Rapids is throwing its 13th annual Harvest Party in honor of the release of its Harvest Ale. The 21-and-up event takes place at the Founders taproom, 235 Grandville Ave. SW, on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to close. Cost of admission is $10 and you’ll get a commemorative pint glass, a complimentary pour of Harvest Ale (or another class 1 beer, but really, why would you pass up Harvest Ale?).

Live music starts at 5 p.m. with performances by Riley Anglen & The Big Guns, Hackensaw Boys, Horse Feathers, and Dos Santos Anti-Beat Orquesta.
The event also features special food offerings, firkins, one-off beers and other specialties.

Tickets are available at the doors only. Come enjoy the fall weather and celebrate the mighty hop!
