Frederik Meijer Gardens announces three summer shows

While the complete 30-show lineup for Frederik Meijer Gardens’ Summer Concert series won’t be announced until mid-April, three shows were announced today: Tedeschi Trucks Band, Blondie and O.A.R.

Tedeschi Trucks is playing on May 30 with special guest Charlie Parr. The 12-piece Americana blues rock group has become known as one of the best live shows around, and Charlie Parr is a country blues musician who has released more than 15 albums in as many years.

Blondie plays June 29. For four decades, the American new wave rock band has been performing around the world after making a name with eclectic music back in the ’70s. The band, led by the legendary Debbie Harry, is now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

O.A.R. (short for Of a Revolution) plays August 26 with special guest Matt Nathanson. The band grew to fame in the 2000s, going from roots, reggae and jam band to infectious, chart-topping alternative rock, with hits like “Shattered” and “Love and Memories.” Meanwhile, Matt Nathanson is a folk, rock singer-songwriter from California.

Meijer Gardens members will be able to purchase tickets starting April 28, while the general public can buy tickets on May 12.
