Brace yourself for the tee-hees, har-de-hars, chuckles and snorts. Gilda’s Laughfest recently announced March 5-15, 2015 as its dates for its fifth year. Spectators can expect to see a variety of comedic acts ranging from stand-up and improv to film, music and much more.
Laughfest is a 10-day event that draws in hoards of people seeking guaranteed amusement. The festival boasts crowds of more than 50,000 people, including within and outside the West Michigan community. As the festival continues to grow, bigger acts are brought to the stage. In previous years the event has featured nationally touring comedians such as Jay Leno, Bill Cosby, Kevin Hart and Betty White. LaughFest isn't just about providing laughter, either. A an economic study from Grand Valley State University indicated LaughFest created a $3.2 million economic impact on the region.
All of the proceeds go towards programs at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids which supports families going through cancer or other health-related grief journeys.
