Gilda's LaughFest Attempts to Break Another World Record

Gilda's LaughFest kicks off on March 6 with another attempt to break a world record. In the past, people gathered in downtown Grand Rapids with rubber chickens, mustaches, cardboard beaks. This year, the goal is to get the most people wearing sunglasses in the dark.

LaughFest does have some competition on its hands, however, as the record currently belongs to Chicago. In July 2012, Wrigley Field filled with 1,642 participants wearing their sunglasses at night.

The official record attempt happens promptly at 7:15 p.m. at Rosa Parks Circle, with pre-kickoff activities and line-up happening between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Participants get their instructions at 7 p.m. and then it's go-time.

After we (fingers crossed) break the record, The Pyramid Scheme holds a free LaughFest kickoff event at 10 p.m., followed by 10 straight days of comedy.
