Grand Rapids Public Library launches free film streaming service

The Grand Rapids Public Library is offering its patrons access to Kanopy, a streaming video collection with more than 26,000 films available online.

Kanopy’s selection includes thousands of documentaries, along with foreign films and classics, blockbusters and indie films from the Criterion Collection. Users can also create clips and playlists from the films for presentations.

The documentaries come from a variety of sources, such as BBC, PBS, Media Education Foundation and more.

GRPL patrons can stream up to 7 movies per month for free.

Library cards are free and available to anyone who lives within the Grand Rapids city limits.
