Kent County residents begin to reap benefits of Grand Rapids Public Museum millage

The benefits of the voter-approved millage for the Grand Rapids Public Museum and John Ball Zoo are in effect, as of today.

One clear and immediate perk is a reduced admission for all Kent County adults at the GRPM, at only $5 per ticket, with free parking.

New programs have also begun to roll out, such as the Concerts Under the Stars, a monthly concert series taking place in the museum’s planetarium with a combination of sounds and visuals. On Feb. 9, the funky Janga will perform.

Among other programs, including a partnership with the gardening nonprofit Urban Roots, the millage will help create a stable source of funding, contributing to the maintenance and facility repairs of both GRPM and John Ball Zoo.
