For the 31st year, LowellArts is hosting its annual West Michigan Art Competition, with $2,000 in cash awards presented to five artists.

Each artist can enter two pieces of art, which both must have been completed within the past two years. Artists must also reside be from one of the 25 lower West Michigan counties.

This year’s judge is Nichole Maury, associate professor of printmedia and curator at Western Michigan University.

Thanks to LowellArts’ new gallery space, the art this year is allowed to be larger than previous years, with a cap at 62 inches in any one direction.

All artwork must be dropped off Feb. 22-25 or shipped in.

The entry fee is $30.
