There’s a new market in town, and it’s full of locally made, artisan products.
Studio C has partnered with Pack Elephant — a Michigan gift-giving service —to create The Marketplace at Studio Park, a one-stop shop made just for supporting local creators.
More than 30 local makers from the Greater Grand Rapids area have work for sale in the shop, ranging from popcorn to mugs, clothes, accessories, home goods, bath products, jam and much more.
You can go to the shop and pick out your own gifts or head online and choose a premade gift package, such as the Soak It In for $54: Including Vanilla Rose Tub Tea, a foot soak, a “You Are Loved” sticker, Healing Hands Balm and oatmeal bath, all locally made.
“I’m incredibly honored that Pack Elephant is being trusted with this activation at such a critical time for our small business community. We are re-inventing the gifting experience with a sophisticated, streamlined shop where every gift purchase makes a significant impact to many local makers at one time,” Winsome Kirton, founder & CEO of Pack Elephant, said in a statement.
Pack Elephant has been putting gift boxes together for years, and was awarded $5,000 at Start Garden’s 5x5 Pitch Night in 2018. This collaboration with Studio Park makes for the first standalone, year-round makers’ market of its kind in Grand Rapids.
The Marketplaces offers much-needed support for local artists, not to mention a great place for last-minute gift shopping. In the future, look out for workshops and events as well!
