Schuler Books and Music will be closing its Alpine location (3165 Alpine Ave., Walker) this April. The other three locations in Grand Rapids and Lansing will continue to run as normal, but owners Bill and Cecile Fehsenfeld have decided not to resign the lease for the Alpine location. The remaining locations are in Grand Rapids (2660 28th St. SE), Lansing (2820 Towne Center Blvd.), and Okemos (1982 Grand River Ave.).
Schuler Books and Music was founded in 1982, and will continue to be a welcoming, local environment for books, gifts and food. The Alpine location will hold a store-closing sale beginning Feb. 14 with 25 percent off all books and 50 percent off gifts. Some fixtures and equipment will also be for sale.
