Downtown Grand Rapids’ very own The Intersection in 2016 reached the top 25 in ticket sales for club concert venues worldwide.
With 114,656 tickets sold, The Intersection reached 22nd on the list, compiled by Pollstar Magazine, and first in Michigan. If one were to add in the 20,355 ticket sales from the building’s smaller venue, The Stache, the building as a whole would place 19th on the list.
Venues such as Van Andel Arena and the DeltaPlex are not on the list, being considered arena venues instead of club.
“With Grand Rapids being thought of somewhat (as) a secondary market in the touring business ending in the Top 25 with some major markets is quite a feat,” said talent buyer and partner Scott Hammontree.
