Broadway Grand Rapids Announces 2012-2013 Season

For years, Broadway Grand Rapids has given us New York-quality shows right in Grand Rapids. The company's 2012-2013 season – announced today – shows the commitment to quality and buzz-worthy shows.

The season kicks off on Oct. 1 with Jersey Boys, the Tony Award-winning musical about The Four Seasons and the legendary music group's rise to fame.

Following that is West Side Story, which has charmed audiences for more than 50 years with its update on the classic Romeo and Juliet story.

2013 kicks off with Sister Act on Feb. 4. Based on the 1994 film starring Whoopi Goldberg, the show features original music by eight-time Oscar winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid).

With Oz: The Great and Powerful, people are discovering the magic of The Wizard of Oz all over again. On April 22, Broadway Grand Rapids brings in Andrew Lloyd Webber's THE WIZARD OF OZ. A new adaption of a classic, the production still contains the classic songs, plus new songs by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

The seasons wraps up with the feel-good Mamma Mia! The show combines ABBA's greatest hits with the script based on the songs.

Additional programming includes Cirque Dreams Holidaze, featuring astonishing acrobatic feats.
