Frederik Meijer Gardens Announces Full Outdoor Summer Concert Series Lineup, Includes Harry Connick Jr., The Beach Boys, Sheryl Crow, Randy Newman and More

As the cliché goes, ‘If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.’ That seems to be the mantra for Frederik Meijer Gardens’ 2013 Outdoor Summer Concert Series lineup, which has multiple acts coming back to the amphitheater.

The lineup, which was released today and is the venue’s biggest to-date with 30 acts, features returning artists – many that have sold out the venue – such as Lyle Lovett and His Large Band (Aug. 24), Garrison Keillor’s A Prairie Home Companion (Aug. 5), Brandi Carlile (June 27), Steve Miller Band (July 18), Chris Isaak (July 25), Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Bricknell (July 29), Wynton Marsalis (June 20) and many other two (or three, or four)-timers.

Like always, Meijer Gardens surprises audiences with quirky indie acts. This year boasts David Byrne (of Talking Heads fame) and St. Vincent, as well as Grizzly Bear (Aug. 3) and Grace Potter and the Nocturnals (July 21).

Critically acclaimed artists also have a spot in this concert series, specifically, Randy Newman (Aug. 8), who has more award nominations than we can count. Others include legendary blues guitarist B.B. King (June 3), The Beach Boys (which need no description, and perform Aug. 1) and Dwight Yoakam (June 7).

For a full list of performers, see below or visit meijergardens.org. Ticket sales to the public begin May 11 at 9 a.m.
