Kalamazoo-based band Jake Simmons & the Little Ghosts releases its new record, "No Better," this month. The ship date for the vinyl/CD is Tuesday, May 12 - but you can hear the debut of "Toledo" right here.
Here's what Simmons has to say about the track:
"'Toledo' is not about Toledo. It's about being too quick to judge and how that can cut you off from good things," Simmons told us.
"I played a show in Toledo once that didn't go well. I just had a bad crowd or maybe we just sucked that night. I don't know. Anyway, later I caught myself thinking, 'Well, I may as well just not play Toledo' because of that one bad show. I realized how ridiculous that was and how often it happens with bands and most people, in general. That's what the song is."
